Help us Feed an elderly person.  Currently, the typical monthly supply of food for an elderly person includes ,rice, beans, flour, corn, oil and sugar. We would like to add milk, eggs, vegetables, chicken and fruit that would greatly improve their diet.  It costs about $25.00 us per month to adequately supplement many of our elderly person’s diets.

The  smallest gesture

On one occasion, Wadsene visited an elderly gentleman  and didn’t have any money to give to him. He apologized but the elderly man told him he should not apologize because just the fact that Wadsene was visiting him had changed his life. The people in the community had seen Wadsene visiting and it changed their perceptions of the elderly man and they had begun to watch out for him and give him food. In Haiti even the smallest gesture or deed is significant.

Our New Partnership:

We are very exited about  what God is doing in Haiti.   Since the earthquake, we have been given the priviledge of working with Wadsene and Jasmine Anozar.   Wadsene and Jasmine have a moving ministry located in the city of Les Cayes on the southern coast of Haiti.  The ministry is a Christian organization whose main purpose is to extend the kingdom of God with the people of Haiti by building relationships with individual people and demonstrating the difference that trusting in Christ can make in their lives. They seek to communicate the simple truth that God’s love is with them in the midst of their circumstances, and  wants to bring meaning and purpose to their lives.

Wadsene,Jasmine and their volunteer team understand that building relationships with people starts with  caring about them and addressing their needs. The ministry began and continues to address the day -to- day needs of a group of elderly people who have no friends or relatives able to help them.  This continues to be at the center of their ministry; however, the ministry has other spheres of influence as well.

The ministry also has a TV show call “ Vil La Bel “ or “The City is Beautiful” currently airing on Saturday and Tuesday nights . The TV show has been very popular and reaches an estimated 2 million people In southern Haiti. The purpose of the show is to confront the persistent and overwhelming issues that have stolen the hope of the Haitian people, to encourage the people to take collective responsibility for the many problems that exist, to build a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm within the community, and use team work to tackle the issues. Through the TV program, the ministry has been able to facilitate meetings with civic leaders and business people to discuss the future of the city.   Among the many areas of concern, one of the first priorities became the environmental hazard created by the deplorable amount of garbage and trash on the streets and in the drainage ways of the city. In response to this problem, some major cleanup efforts have been organized.
